As a longtime member of the UT Martin community, first as a student and then as a staff member, I am reminded daily of the impact that UTM’s professors have made on my life.
UT Martin is a special place that promotes academic, social, and personal development for students. Our mission hinges on the presence of caring professors who share their intelligence and passion with our students daily. UTM’s professors have a colossal influence on our lives. Every day these educators shape the world of the classroom through their thoughtful lectures, their attentive focus, and the real relationships they nurture. Take a few seconds to think about a professor who helped shape you into the person you are today.
Now, imagine if it that professor — and countless others like him or her teaching today — had never come to UT Martin. Your UTM experience just wouldn’t be the same. To ensure future generations of UTM students have the same opportunities we did, we must embrace our responsibility to support UT Martin as proud alumni. While it’s tempting to leave that responsibility to others, there is a special feeling that comes from being a part of something greater than yourself.
This spring, you have the opportunity to cement the enduring legacy of UTM by honoring a past professor. Please consider making a gift to UT Martin in honor or in memory of that special professor
you thought of moments ago, the one who instilled in you the UTM spirit of giving back. Think of the student who will find a mentor or chart a new direction in life thanks to the support of alumni like you.
Each professor you choose to honor will receive an acknowledgement of your gift, including your name.
Thank you for your loyalty and consideration.

"I am who I am because of Dr. Teresa Collard. Dr. Collard has given me the strength and confidence that I needed in order to succeed in the world of higher education. Because of Dr. Collard I have been able to achieve my dreams in working for The University of Tennessee at Martin."

"I am who I am because of Dr. Ruby Black. Dr. Black inspired me because from the very beginning of nursing school, she demanded perfection in knowledge and skills so that down the road I would be unshakable in the knowledge and decisions that I was making with my patients. "

"I am who I am because of Dr. Nell Gullett. Dr. Gullett inspired me to pursue a career in finance. With the tools I learned from her at UT Martin I’m now able to do what I love for a living."
